WHERE TO USE

Waterproofing indoor floor and wall surfaces that are not subject to rising damp. Flexible, anti-fracture membrane. Apply before the installation of ceramic tiles or stone material.

Mapegum WPS may be used on the following:

• plasterboard, gypsum or cementitious render, lightweight cement block and marine-plywood;
• cementitious, anhydrite, wooden and magnesite substrates and existing ceramic and natural stone after the application of Eco Prim T primer.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Mapegum WPS is a ready-to-use, solvent-free, one-component, grey-coloured paste with a base of synthetic resins in water dispersion.

Mapegum WPS has a thixotropic consistency which makes it easy to apply on horizontal, sloping and vertical surfaces. After rapid evaporation of the water content, Mapegum WPS forms a flexible membrane which is not sticky and which is strong enough to withstand light pedestrian traffic. It also forms an excellent surface which bonds perfectly to adhesives used for laying ceramics, marble and natural stone.

The flexibility of Mapegum WPS enables it to withstand normal expansion and contraction movements of the substrate due to temperature variations and vibrations. Thanks to the flexibility of Mapegum WPS, it acts as an anti-fracture membrane for substrates which are subject to light cracking (< 1 mm). Mapegum WPS is resistant to water, limewater (pH > 12), water which contains chlorides and normal household detergents and cleaning products.

Systems based on the use of Mapegum WPS flexible membrane, on which various types of tiles have been laid using MAPEI cementitious-based adhesives (such as Granirapid, Keraflex and Adesilex P9) and water dispersion adhesives (Ultramastic III), have been certified for use in damp environments by the following institutes:

• Säurefliesner (Germany)
• Sp Swedish National Testing & Research Institute (Sweden)
• Norwegian Research and Building Institute (Norway)

RECOMMENDATIONS

• Do not apply Mapegum WPS if the temperature is lower than +5°C.
• Create sloping surfaces where necessary to avoid the formation of puddles of water.
• Do not apply Mapegum WPS on damp cementitious substrates or on substrates which are subject to rising damp.
• Do not apply Mapegum WPS on bitumen or asphalt membranes which could bleed oil or plasticizers.
• Do not use Mapegum WPS on surfaces continuously immersed in liquid such as swimming pools, fountains, storage tanks, etc. Use Mapelastic or Mapelastic Smart for these types of application.
• Do not use Mapegum WPS to cover cracks which are subject to shearing movements.
• Mapegum WPS must be protected from abrasion caused by pedestrian traffic by installing ceramic tiles or stone material.

Tiles will be shrink wrapped on a pallet and delivered to the ground level edge of your property (curbside). The driver will NOT be able to assist getting the tiles into your property due to insurance purposes. Orders under 20kg weight will be delivered with a parcel courier.

When ordering Tile Samples you will receive a small cut sample either 10cm x 10cm or 15cm x 15cm.

We hope that you will be pleased with the tiles that you have bought from Tiles-Direct. If you wish to return any goods to us, it must be returned to us in re-saleable condition, in its full original carton/box and the range is still for sale via our website. The customer will be responsible for organising the return of the goods to our distribution warehouse return centre within 30 days of the delivery date. The refund will be processed within 3-5 working days following our receipt of the re-saleable items.

There will be a restocking charge of 10% of the goods returned.

If the goods are not in a re-saleable condition when they arrive back with us, Tiles-Direct reserve the right to amend the amount of the refund based on the value of re-saleable goods.

If you decide to return an entire order, costs will need to be deducted for the delivery, and the return costs.

The best way to determine if a lorry can access your home/business address is whether you have a bin vehicle collecting from outside your premises.

Wide enough access - to accept large delivery lorries (minimum 2.8m)

No obstacles - free of obstacles that could obstruct delivery (e.g. low hanging tree branches)

No Inclines - the delivery area should be flat, rather than a steep slope

Hard & level surface - hand pallet trucks only operate on hard flat surfaces, not loose ground such as grass or gravel

Turning space - ample room to manoeuvre and position the lorry

You MUST advise if there are any parking or time restrictions at the delivery point.

From our carrier you will receive a text message on the day of the delivery with a 2 hour delivery window. If there any changes or delays you will receive an update via text.

If you have any doubts regarding the condition of the delivery, Please ensure to sign for the goods “UNCHECKED”.

You must be available to accept delivery on the date you have requested, failure to do so will result in paying for a re delivery charge.
