Which tile board is right for me?

6mm tile backing boards are commonly used on floors, but you can opt for a thicker board if you want to raise the height of the floor slightly, or if you’re using large format tiles. We also recommend allowing an additional 15-25mm for the tile and adhesive layers.

For walls, a 6mm or 10mm tile backer can be attached, providing a sturdy, smooth surface for tiling. If you’re using heavy, large format tiles on the wall, it’s recommended to opt for the thicker board as they’re able to hold more weight.
