Large Format Tile Size Options

If you’re longing for spacious interiors, our large format tiles could be just the ticket for rooms of all sizes.

For instance, when it comes to decorating a small space in your home, it can be difficult to prevent the room from feeling cramped or claustrophobic - this is where large format tiles can help.

Fight the instinct to opt for small tiles and instead use extra large format tiles, elongating the space on both walls and floors thanks to fewer grout lines. The result is a room that instantly feels brighter and less cluttered than it would with smaller tiles.

Combined with other interior design hacks (like a tactical colour palette and carefully placed mirrors), you can make a previously cramped space seem dramatically grander with large wall or floor tiles.

But even with large tiles, we know that one size doesn’t fit all. That’s why you’ll find a choice of size options available, from 8cm x 40cm to 120cm x 120cm.

Large Tiles for Walls & Floors

Large tiles are equally suitable for walls or floors, thanks to the fewer grout lines they create - helping them to create the appearance of additional space even in modestly sized rooms. Large wall and floor tiles are the ultimate in sophistication, with applications galore throughout the home.

Here’s how you can maximise the design impact of large tiles on walls and floors alike:

• Large wall tiles: on walls, large tiles can be used to create a high-end effect, with reduced grout lines making walls appear less busy and contributing to a minimalist-inspired look. Particularly effective in white, cream or grey, large wall tiles will brighten up a space - resulting in a visibly clean, airy living space that’s also extremely easy to clean thanks to tile’s low-maintenance finish

• Large floor tiles: on floors, large tiles boast the same space-expanding effects, especially in paler colours such as white and off-white. Popular large floor tile options include marble-effect and the somewhat pricier genuine marble tiles, as well as rustic-inspired wood-effect porcelain floor tiles, which effortlessly imitate the beauty of hardwood floors without the associated warping and maintenance issues

Wherever you choose to use large format tiles, it's essential to make sure they're correctly installed for a professional and long-lasting finish.

Large format wall and floor tiles can be more challenging to lay than regular size tiles. With this in mind, we'd recommend employing a professional tiler to do the job.
