What is a tile backer board?
Tile backer boards are used to provide a smooth, level surface to tile onto where the substrate beneath isn’t sufficiently flat and stable. Generally made from concrete or plywood, backer boards are especially useful when tiling moisture-prone spaces like bathrooms and wet rooms due to being impervious to moisture.
By priming both sides of the tile backer board and applying fast-setting adhesive before installing onto the substrate, you can create a perfectly level, mould and water-resistant surface for your tile installation.
